Paper piecing for LIM

Hello and thank you for popping bye. Here's a card I made for this weeks challenge hosted by the lovely Val  (Canonbury Creations) is guest designer at Less is More.  The challenge is to show paper piecing.

I was determined to use one of my several non inked snowmen stamps! I think I've never used them  because I like traditional red and green at Christmas but then again snowmen are very traditional!
Stamps used.
Katzelkraft KTZ83: Snowmen
Stampers  Anonymous TH : Reindeer collection: snowflakes.
See D's Holiday words and sayings: sentiment.
Versafine onyx black ink
deco Art Glamour dust.
I stamped the snowmen twice once directly onto the card base then onto co-ordinating card, over stamped the separate snowmen  with the snowflakes and cut out, adhered to the base card, then added a tiny touch of glitter.

Confession time! :-))
The added snowflakes around the card were not intended but were needed, to hide black smudges! but I like them..
Have a great week.

By the skin of my teeth!

Here a couple of cards I  made this week. Unfortunately one is a bereavement card, and the other is for the Less is More challenge which I think I will manage to join  by the skin of my teeth
This is for LIM which this week is to follow a sketch.... I'm not sure this exactly follows the sketch, it's a bit iffy but here goes :-)
... thought you might like to see the LIM sketch, see what I mean, iffy!
 *****
This was the card I sent to a friend whose Mum passed away last week.... so sad
Thank you for looking have a "spooktacular" week end.

Jewel Colours

Hello and welcome , here's a quick card I made for LIM with  the theme of "Jewel Colours"
I've been playing with Distress Stains, I only have three but the colours looked quite jewel like so I decided to stamp the Stampendous owl onto it, and use it for the LIM challenge.

Thank you for looking, have a lovely evening.

Up date re Make My Monday

Hello this is a quick post to tell you that with regret I have resigned from the Design Team at MMM..I have enjoyed my time at MMM it helped me to gain confidence and I met the most lovely  people.
Life has been quite hectic since I moved home last year re: house refurb etc etc. I wasn't able/am still unable to give decent commitment to MMM. They now have a great new design team who are providing lots of inspiration.

Here's a lovely Autumnal photograph taken by Joe in his garden in North Wales

I'm in France at the moment on a little break staying with wonderful friends.
Hope to be back crafting in the not too distant future. See you soon, thank you for looking.

Time Flies

Its time for another challenge at Make My Monday. Chosen by me this week and it is:
Black and white with a hint of one other Colour
I was thinking when I chose this theme that it would be useful for quick Christmas cards by just adding a touch of colour to robins, Christmas trees, Rudolf etc! but my card is not for Christmas but it could be for suitable as new year card! or a birthday greeting or anything!

Products : TH Stampendous Anonymous: Classic favourites, Kaiser Craft: tiny dot, Stampendous: Time Flies and detail black embossing powder, Faber-Castell big brush: Orange Glaze, Versamark and Versafine: Onyx black.
I added TH Distress Glaze to the clock but it doesn't show up on the photo or the card! so perhaps this wasn't the correct medium in this instance :-(
Thank you for looking, take care

Fabric and lace

Hello and welcome,  Make My Monday is back, as am I, after a short break. MMM has a new look and some new designers so please pop across and take a look.. This week's challenge chosen by Marina is Something beginning with F..
For my inspiration  piece I chose Fabric..

I have lots of fabric scraps etc, you know how we save things just in case!  and so I decided to make a CAS collage. As you can see it didn't remain CAS... it just grew!
The bright pink scraps are suede like material taken from one of my many glasses cases... see I save all sorts of rubbish no wonder my craft room is stacked to the rafters. The stamped lines are from the SU Gorgeous Grunge grunge set stamped in Archival potting soil. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.
I do hope you will join us at MMM, I look forward to seeing your makes

Le Fleur

Hello glad you popped by it helps soo much when you do I enjoy reading your comments Thank you :-)
Today I thought I'd share a card that I meant to make for MMM but it wasn't ready in time.  Actually on Monday morning it was still in my head! I was inspired by an article by Kay Carley in July's Craft Stamper magazine using Brushos.

It is similar but different to Kay's but I liked the way she created a light brusho background.. My brusho backgrounds are always on the dark side or way too much intense colour. I end up using loads of water to wash the paint away!
All the colour on this card as been achieved with Brushos. I enjoyed playing  with experimental ways of using the paint. It was a cold, miserable, wet day on Monday so it was an ideal day to spend in my craft room .  I only popped out to Make Dave ( The landscaper building my new deck area) cups of tea.
Although I enjoyed making this card there are elements of it that "bug" me, mainly to do with positioning. I've added some black dots in a straight line from the sentiment to help with  the balance.

 Hope you like it.

Everythings coming up roses

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks challenge at Make My Monday which chosen by me and inspired by the colours in the garden is
 Flowers

I used a freebie embossing folder with  Core'dinations Whitewash card which I  sanded lightly to darken the embossed area. I glammed it up with ribbon, gems and sequins. The card is a commission for a 10th wedding anniversary. which in old money would be celebrated with tin but the modern version is diamonds hence the "diamond" heart  and some tiny crystals on the sequins. the colours are favourites of the lady this card is intended for.
the tiny glittery bits are the centres of the sequin's.

Thank you for dropping by, have a lovely week...  despite the, brrr cold! here in the UK

Steampunk at MMM

Hello it's time for a new challenge  at Make My Monday. This week the theme  chosen by my teamie Joan is
STEAM PUNK
I  decided to complete a page in my Steam Punk journal.... this is my favourite, but sadly neglected journal.. It was started years ago at a workshop run by Sue Roddis at the Cubby Hole craft shop in Crewe, Cheshire.
I mostly used "stuff" that was in my Steam Punk box...Left over Graphic 45 bits and pieces, word stamps from various companies, digital downloads from an Etsy co. Vectoria Designs, a Stampendous flying machines stamp which you can just see  behind the bird and a TH ideology cogs mask and  the tiny tunnel stamp is from Chocolate Baroque.
The inchie images are part of  the digi downloads mounted behind waste from something or other... :-) coloured with DI walnut stain and rusty hinge. The swirly fragments are  discarded failures from TH Thinlits dies... just added for movement and texture.
I've been a very poor crafter and Blogger for the last 18months or so..... but I hope to sort myself out and get crafting! I think it stems from a very poorly "organised"  (NOT) craft room... I spend for ever searching for stamps etc! not good! One day I'll get round to having a good clear / sort out out!
Back to MMM , hope you can join us we love seeing your creations.
 Have a lovely week

All at sea

Hello and welcome it's time for another challenge at Make My Monday.
This week the challenge is
The Sea
This was another frustrating challenge for me, my imagination went into lock down. So once again I browsed the downloads on my PC and came across these download images from  Cemerony etsy shop
Hope you like my take on this challenge.

It's my youngest sons birthday this month  and this card will be for him.. he doesn't read my blog so no fear of him seeing the card. Whilst Paul was researching our family history he discovered that way back when one of  his ancestors was a ships captain. This card will be paying tongue in cheek homage to that Captain! It makes a change from the cards I usually make for him with golfers, fishermen etc.
I used a script stamp from Kaisercraft and the little round map stamp is in a jar of travel stamps I bought From TK Max
The England map is part of the download. I covered this and a couple of other images with Glossy Accents.
the background paper is from  a Tim Holtz Ideology 8x8 paper pad.
I roughed up all the edges and then aged with DI walnut stain.

Do you like the sailors knots? I had to google knots and how to make them! This is a figure eight knot.
Thank you for looking  :-)

Sweet Summer Treats

Hello and welcome it's a good job Monday comes round so often :-) but for Make My Monday I doubt whether I'd get much if any card making done at all!Moving house, doing almost a total refurb now trying to sort out the outside space  has certainly dented my craft and blogging... I'm thinking of adding more pages to share my new home and garden etc... may be even a new Blog!
I  better stop waffling and  get back to this weeks  MMM challenge with the theme
Sweet Summer Treats
I really had to think about this one! I don't have any stamps  in this theme! so had to browse my Pink Petticoat downloads and discovered two packs that suited very well.
The cupcakes are from the download: Eat Cake everything else is from: Sweet Sundaes. I printed out the cupcakes twice and cut of the toppings of two which were enhanced with Shabby Pink embossing enamel. then added to the base cake. I slightly shaped the cakes before adhering to the card. I added Glossy Accents to the cherries and a smidgen of Glamour Dust here and there.
Here you can see the delicious topping! :-) and dimension.

Thought you might like to see  this view taken one early Jauary morning through my kitchen window
I see lots of wild life here, I love it!

See you soon

The Beach
Here's mine, a very British sea side scene but pop across to the MMM challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team.

I'm disappointed with the colour in the photograph in reality its much brighter especially the sun!

Edited later that same day :-)
I've "grounded" the beach hut now.... it looked as if it was floating in mid air!  Does it look like pebbles?
I remembered after I'd drawn in the "pebbles" that I own a tiny pepples stamp!?

Embossing - Dry or Heat... plus exciting news!

Before I share my DT inspiration piece, would you like to join this lovely, friendly and supportive team?
We are looking to increase the DT by four!
If you're interested please add the letters DT after your name on the link thumb nail. If you would like more infomation please ask, you can email or ask in comments.

Monday is here again, quick as a flash! and this week at Make My Monday  Fliss wants to see
Embossing - heat or Dry or both even!

Now for my Embossing inspiration
I used heat embossing with  Suzanne Carillo stamps. I stamped in Versafine onyx black directly onto a white, square base card. I then stamped the image x 2 with versamark onto vellum. One was embossed in black and one in white embossing powder. All coloured with Faber Castell Big Brush. I drew the squiggly boarder free hand! how brave am I? could've a been a total disaster!
I cut out the black vellum  petals, curled them up, then adhered to the main image. I also cut out the black butterfly, tiny circle and one square.
Before cutting out the white flower circles I scribbled one with pink, one with yellow onto the back of the
vellum then adhered the vellum onto white card.
Thank you for looking it's always much appreciated and helps keep me going.

Shabby chic

Gosh, doesn't Monday get here quickly! Yes it's Monday1 time for the new Make My Monday Challenge. This week hosted by me and my theme is:
Shabby Chic

In my head my inspiration piece started life very differently it was to have lace, ribbons and faux stitching! with  a very distressed look!
here's how it all ended

The card above is nothing like the one that was in my head. Don't ask! I've no idea where that one went...this one  just happened
Hope you like it any way :-)
The base card is a lovely creamy colour but here it looks a bit pale and buff in colour. ;-)
Here you can see the layers

Stamps used
Susan Carillo: BZ006 crave love
Kanban: Roses and lace
docrafts: urban stamps: Postal frame
HOTP: Artful collection: vintage and floral images.

Photo Inspiration

Hello and welcome it's time for me to share my design team inspiration piece for Make My Monday which this week  marina has chosen  a photo inspiration.

The part of the photograph that stood out to me when I first saw it, was the colour of the balloons the little girl is holding but it could have been the seaside element, the balloons, the friendship etc etc.... which element of the photograph would inspire your creation?

I used anIndigo Blu Peony Dinkie stamped onto water colour card with Versafine onyx black, coloured with pink and purple Neocolour water soluble wax pastels, highlighted with a white marker I added a bit of sparkle with Sakura.  I'd almost forgotten I had the Sakura pens bought when I first started making cards. I splattered with a very wet paint brush using both colours, added a freebie sentiment from a magazine and a couple of gems.
The peony does the talking on this simple card.
if you've never joined a challenge then give it a go, it's fun!!
I'ts the  the oficial start to summer here in the UK... please let it be a sunny and
warm one.

Crafty Kraft card

Hello and welcome, its Monday so time for another challenge at Make My Monday with the theme chosen by me:
Use Kraft Card

I embossed the Kraft card with an embossing folder ( sorry don't know who by I then  smooched the  embossed design  with SU Whisper White using a kitchen towel. since seeing here I think I might add a couple of jewels or three.
I stamped one of the flowers  from Tim Holtz Flower Garden onto water colour paper using  versamark, embossed with detail black EP then coloured using a water colour technique with Distress Stain. Before deciding to use EP  I'd stamped the image in Versafine Onyx Black and cut out. When it came to mounting the flowers  I'd used one embossed and one NOT! but it was already on the card  when I realised so I decided to leave it....hope you don't notice... lol
The tag was made using a punch with a sentiment from hobby craft. The bright coloured hemp is by Hemptique from TK Max
Thank you for dropping by, enjoy your day

Trees and leaves

Good morning and welcome to this week's inspiration  piece for the Make My Monday challenge which is all about
Trees and Leaves.
The above card uses a Tim Holtz alterations trellis die, Clearly Besotted Leafy accents stamps and corresponding dies, sentiment from Clear Impressions freebie via Get Stamping magazine. Three shades of green distress inks and walnut stain.

For the card below I used French Foliage set of stamps from SU in DI's peeled pain and fired brick. sentiment from HOTP Artful collection. I was inspired by the Less is More Challenge to use opposite colours on the colour wheel, hence red and green. I'm not sure it passes as LIM but I'll enter it for the challenge any way ;-)

Thank you for looking you know I love it when you do, especially if you leave a comment it's so very much appreciated.
