Gothic Arch challenge

This is my first attempt at a Gothic Arch challenge.  This weeks theme is shabby chic. The  pretty face stamp is from a La Blanche foam set.The swirl stamp I've had too long  to remember where I got it ,everything else is from my stash. It hasn't scanned all that well and I couldn't get the beads to stay where I wanted em to be,,, so gave up...  memo to self... must use the camera.

PS.  later that night
been looking at some, of the other shabby chic  arches  WONDRFUL!..  I don't think I 've quite got the hang of  shabby but hey there is romance.   :-)  Sue x

here goes with the dreaded link!

Blog Hop

Wow! Wow! Wow!  I've won some blog candy from the lovely Brenda at..Floral Fantasies.. How good is That? Especially as I've had a traumatic couple of days .. so the news that I'd won this candy was very welcome and such a surprise.
Without going into too much detail I needed a biopsy yesterday (signs are that it wont be serious ,fingers crossed) but having survived cancer the fact that I needed a biopsy came as a shock.
So that was yesterday, to day I was supporting my wonderful  son Mark and  his lovely partner Tracey. Mark had a heart attack at age 40, and is not brilliant at the moment... but is ok...
So to win this candy brought a smile after the tears ... thankyou Brenda .

Brenda is organising a Blog Hop see the logo on the side bar and visit her blog http://stamping-fantasies.blogspot.com/ for more info.

thankyou to all the people who have tried to help me with the dreaded LINK thingy! I follow the instructions but still it doesn't work.... I'll keep at it..  :o)

I was going to have a go at Gothic Arches challange today but will have a go tomorrow instead whilst I'm waiting for the boiler man ... My boiler needs some attention after the ravages of the freeze... it is working tho!

Fifteen!

This is a card for Connor who is my step grandson.I find male cards very difficult but adolescent boys! .... even worse. I have taken the Get Funky Blog challange ie spots & stripes as the theme. I used  the CD's Funky Seasons & Funky Daze for the papers..well for all of it except,  I used sequin waste  to create the spots on the numbers with ColorBox ice blue chalk ink.
He's in the Air Cadets thats why its blue & has circles.

So now I'm going to have a go at  a LINK! fingers crossed

ps
The link didn't work, no idea why not plus the comment now reads like gobbledygoog !

Inspiration from GG member

This is a couple of photos taken of a wall plaque I made some time ago at The Cubby Hole crop shop..I know its not a scrap book but I don't do crops....yet!. If I hadn't spent the day at the CH at their crop shop this would never have got done. I had a great day and Carol the CH owner was a great help as was the encouragement from other "croppers".
The inspiration came from another member of the Graphicus Guild who made a wonderful wall plaque. Carol invited me to the crop shop saying just bring what you're working on & I thought the night before, heck what am I working on? I'd been thinking about stamping onto canvass and so this project ...growed! if you see what I mean. So I bungled into a bag (don't have a proper trolley or anything croppy ) all the things I though I might need. Never having done this sort of thing it was a bit hit and miss, thank goodness  the other croppers were more organised and could help me out eg. I forgot acrylic blocks! durr.

The plaque is made from a canvass board sprayed with Sticky Fingers inks, maple, olive & copper shake & spray. I put that aside and started playing with the stamp board squares. This is the moment I bought my first and so far, my only Adirondck  alcohol inks, slate, meadow & currant, blended with alcohol blending solution. It looked a bit too dark so I sprayed with the copper. I then stamped with  images from Glenda Waterworths  Wild Meadow and Live Out Loud unmounted  theme plates using black Stazon, then attached to the  base board. I must say most of the credit goes to the GG member who inspired this work. the Stamp board sqaures came from a wonderful grab back from graphicus it contaned some fantastic stas. graphicus recently offered anothe GB but I was too late .. they flew out of the store! I'll be keeping a keen eye out in case they do another .I'm not missing out again!
 take care

Tues 12th
I forgot to mention that the image is from Joanna Sheens Victorian Images CD, I find this quite useful for mens cards ... some funny cartoon images too, the backing paper and label is  a wonderful freebie off some ones blog . I'm so sorry but I can't remembert which one. If any one recognizes it please let me know then I can give credit where its due. I thought I'd saved the blog ... but I haven't. it was from one of those clever digi designers.. I love it.
keep warm every one

Stripes & Spots

Hi everyone, hope you had a great time over  Christmas & new year. I had a lovely time seeing all my family.

This is an engagement card for my nieghbours who got engaged on New Years Day . It also fits the bill for the Get Funky January challange... stripes and spots.. well actually its the other way round I based the card, surprise, surprise on stripes and spots.

The backing papers are from Funky Hand downloads, Shabby Saturday, (stripes printed in draft) hearts & spots from Huge Funky Love printed onto acetate and the pale spots from the I Do Wordbook. The hearts are punched out of card printed from Shabby Saturday then stamped with the freebie from Craft Stamper magazine, the rest is bits and pieces from my stash. The theme is Shabby!! did I intend it to be shabby?... you'll never know!... wink wink.

Now comes the tricky bit, for me any way, I still haven't mastered the art of posting a link... DURR!.. some lovely people have given me help and instruction and still I can't do it !!

Love n' hugs
