Wedding card and LIM quickie

Hi folks, raining here with sunny spells of which there are not many :(

This  wedding card is an order from a friend of mine  for a colleague of hers and an x colleague of mine who is soon to be married in some where exotic! Maureen asked me to  make a card  along those lines.

The photograph under the vellum is printed onto photographic canvass paper  The edge of which are torn and rough embossed to tie in with the Elusive Images ( now Chocolate Baroque)  table stamp.

This is my quickie LIM card. made with a stamp (Studio g )  I picked out of a bargain bucket some where and have never used... I like the sentiment

Enjoy your day.. I'm off to the Cubby Hole shortly.. mainly for a coffee and a gas!  plus say happy birthday to a couple of people... I might take cake!  :))

LIM Pick a square. wk 17

Hellooo how are you all this morning, ooh heck it's afternoon already!
I'm so glad that Mr Blogger Man has fixed things.. all my followers disappeared and I am relieved to say you are all back! ... I did miss you :))

This weeks challenge over at LIM is to pick a square and leave the rest as pure white space. Chrissie and Mandi said we could extend beyond the square  or it could be oblong as long as it is obvious which square was used .Think I've managed....just!!

Products
Adirondacks Dye Ink: Watermelon and Sunshine yellow.
Stamps: Elusive Images (no longer trading): Sentiment flourish and hearts
See D's:  All you need is love
Music paper from my stash....

This is the template provided with instructions to pick one of the five squares.. now I just counted 10 squares!... and I've got another idea... mmmm.. not sure I'll have time to fulfill this idea :)

See you soon

Commissioned Wedding card and some stones!

My friend Desi loved my piece for the LIM and Cubby Hole white on white challenges, she asked me to do a wedding card  in the same vane but including the couples names ...here's my effort... Hope she likes it! more importantly hope Andy and Liz like it...

I was reminded of these stones after I saw some wonderful art on Sue Alan's Blog  using driftwood and bits and pieces found on  a North Wales beach.
These stones were gathered on a Norfolk beach... sorry can't remember which one. They have been "tumbled"  by Joe in a tumbler I bought him as a Christmas prezzie... I think :) not "art" just a bunch of stones on my coffee table, nothing at all like Sue's wonderful art work ..but thought you might like to see them.

Bye for now :)

LIM Butterfly

Hi folks... some gorgeous butterflies over on the LIM site...
might not have time to come visit you all
but the work is fabulous as usual.

The background  was made  yesterday using the TH  water colour technique with stamps and Adirondack Dye inks and was about to be thrown into the bits box  (one of many :)
when I thought this could be an English summer meadow
so I put a butterfly in it :)
Ok so you have to use your imagination!
but for me,
it's clover, buttercups, grass in seed, wild thyme and bell flower etc.
all swaying in a light summer breeze...
I want to be there.. hurry up summer.

Today was supposed to be dedicated to ...shhh..... HW
I'm getting ashamed to open my door!!  really!!
I thing it was a bad idea to start in ere (TMR)
You know how it is... things just pop into your mind...
butterflies in meadows for instance lol

This is a close up of the layered butterfly, stamped three times, direct to card, then again onto same card and cut out, top layer onto vellum and cut out. then a bit of bling.

Grungy Monday TH Water Colour Image at Studio L3

This is my first entry into this challenge...
am  wee bit nervous :) but I want to move on and use different techniques... so here goes.
I wonder if it's OK that I didn't use a TH stamp?
The twine was a natural colour until I pulled it through the Meadow ink pad... I got very messy
Thanks to Hels Sheridan for that tip.
I think I may have over splattered... enjoyed it though!
I also cased one of TH designs :)
The base card is actually dark green...
it looks a bit black on ere. :o)

Hi everyone how you all on this very blustery day?

It's my grandson, Frazer's 12th birthday tomorrow... I struggle as you all know with male cards of whatever age, although I quite like yesterdays card which would be OK for a fella...

The thing about this one..
I  think I've made it too messy... cos Frazer isn't messy but he does like being stylish!

I was going to enter this for the Get Funky Challenge, Spots and Stripes but I'm too late :( I printed the papers ages ago ... well a week I suppose :))

LIM wk 15 One Layer Embossing

I like this image bought from Sue Roddis when she had a "Garage Sale" before she left for .. KAZAKHSTAN!
This is the first time I've used it. It's randomly stamped with DI's, Faded Jeans and Broken China then embossed with clear embossing powder. I like the way the DI's  "bubble" which enhances the water effect...
The image was then stamped onto vellum with blue Stazon and  the dragon flies cut out and glittered.

Can you see the bubbles? :o)

This card was inspired by Mustavcoffee... thank you. It might be for Leesia xx

LIM wk 15 One Layer Embossing

This was going to be my daughters birthday card (Sat) but when I checked my files I used these same images last year. This card is totally different ...she likes the LIM format... but can't send it... can I? Think I need more moon and fairy type images... mmmm better go looking!

My daughter loves fairies, the moon and unicorns... she has a son !7yrs old... that will give you an indication of her chronological age :))

Although it's not showing up all that well the card is a dark navy colour. It's too windy to photograph out side  :o(

Dressing Up Box

The challenge for April at the Cubby Hole was Mannequin. This is my interpretation. I've called it :
"The Dressing Up Box"
It pays homage to: Manneqiun
The Childrens Story.   Book by AS Byatt.
                              The Wedding!

It's made on the reverse of a stretch canvass. Can you see the golden wheel of the wedding carriage?
this is the side of the canvass which has been distressed with DI Antique Linen and stamped images added.
If you live anywhere Crewe do pop along and take a look at the fantastic artwork that is on display... everyone makes a huge effort to play along and we have much fun taking part. Alternatively keep an eye on the CHCCTV http://cubbyholecctvs.blogspot.com/ where the artwork will be posted usually in twos and threes cos so many people play along.

Carol owner of "THe CUB" as it's affectionally called sets a new challenge each month. May is well on the way ...for me any way because I was to provide the inspiration which you may have seen on a previous post .
It is....ta dah!...." Homage to White Space".
I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with... it will be interesting and delightfull..... some of the girls do cross stitch pieces!!!

In the Pink

I made these quick cards this morning to take along to the Cubby Hole  to help inspire  people to have a go at the The Cubby Holes, May challenge, which is "White Space Homage"

I had this pink card lying around so used it for all three cards! I used different techniques to appeal to people with different abilities and or crafty preferences.

The above card uses stamping and layering, direct to paper, faux stitching... tried using the sewing machine but it made a funny noise so, me being sewing machine phobic, soon  resorted to faux! :)

Masking and punches

Stamping, layering, direct to paper... "saucy but nice".

I also took along lots of the LIM cards that I have done over the last few weeks.

LIM "White on White"and Cubby Hole... "Homage to White Space"

As well as my entry for the LIM Challenge this is one of my inspiration pieces for the May challenge at the Cubby Hole. I know, I know it's not exactly less but it is white :)
I used three shades of white , five if you count the two shades of pearl embellishments.
It is an 8x8 hard canvass panel.
Hope this still qualifies for LIM :)
I had some difficulty with the photos...
you are quite right Chris photographing all that white isn't easy
hence three different shots.

The one above was taken outside this morning.

This  was taken by Joe indoors with an artificial side light, using his lovely little Cannon Ixus..
This shows lots of interesting shadows.
( I covet this camera:)

This was taken by me with my Cannon Power Shot A650 ( as are all my photos ) indoors without artificial side lighting
It has been difficult to show up the white, every photo looked blue and hitting automatic levels made it worse! but  I'm sure you'll get the drift :)

Added Mon 9th
One of the Limettes sugested I round out the bird,
so here he is bit more rounded and with his eye in a better position...
I never did like the other eye! :)

LIM no.2 " Happy Accident? "

I intended to use this butterfly, which is a free download from The Graphics Fairy
for the "feared" acetate challenge.
I never got round to using it that week  so here it is for this weeks Lucky Dip challenge.
The" happy accident" refers to the punched border. I coloured the first one with DI Weathered Wood but it was too much  and since I didn't have any printable acetate left :( and I couldn't peel the border off, I punched another border, kept it plain and stuck it on the top leaving the top flowers raised to reveal the blue underneath. Quite like it :)

The tiny butterfly is stamped in black directly onto the card and in blue onto acetate.

 Added 5th May 2011
since so many of you love the large butterfly, thought I'd make it easy for you to visit the wonderful Graphics Fairy blog. Here's the link or you can access from the button on my side bar :)

LIM wk 13 Luucky Dip and Just Add Ink

Thank you or congratulations. Just  add a flower
I think you can guess which I went for :)
it's not all that obvious but under the embossed script is a stamped script in a very pale turquoise.
I wanted to bring all the colours together
but hopefully still keep it LIM
I managed to avoid putting shading on the embossing...
good or what!

I've also entered this in to the Just Add Ink challenge which is to just add a flower.
