No patterened paper at MMM

Hi all, two weeks have flown buy and its time for another challenge at Make My Monday which this time  is all about  not using  patterned paper on your creations.
Here's my interpretation, hope you like it.
I'd been playing with Distress Inks on an odd bit of card that was lying around on my desk. I also wanted to ink up a recently bought Tammy Tutterow background stamp, which I love.
The flower head is from Darkroom Doors fine Flowers, the stem and leaf from Tim Holtz Flower garden.
there were lots of bits and bobs that didn't go quite right on both the background and the flower... but I do like the end result.
 Products
DI: antique linen, fossilised amber, abandoned coral and vintage photo
Versafine vintage sepia
Derwent Inktense pencils.
Cosmic shimmer: yellow, gold and red on the flower but its difficult to see on the photograph :-(
Woodware greeting
Prima trim.
Darkroom door: Fine Flowers
Stampers Anonymous: Flower Garden
Spellbinders designer series: Tammy Tutterow.

 thank you for looking
 see you soon

A message for Harry!

Hope you like my interpretation of the new theme, "Back to School" for the Make My Monday Challenge Blog. I  don't have many stamps etc that suited this theme, so it proved to be quite a challenge!
In the end I used the owl and books stamp from Stampendous to make a Harry Potter style card, even though the owl isn't the correct species used in the HP stories/ films.
The sentiment is Clear Sentiments from Kaiser Craft.

I used Versafine, Vintage Sepia but for some reason the images look black!?
The image below shows the layered images..
I had to flatten out the "scroll" to fit under owls beak! lol.

Hope you can join us at MMM with this fabulous challenge chosen by design team member, Amy.
Bye for now

Verdigris ears!

Hello and welcome, so glad you popped by. Today I'm sharing a card I made for my neighbour Chris's birthday. Chris is an exceptionally talented artist. He carves the most amazing  wooden bird and animals.
One of my favourites was a hare with copper ears.....  which has now been sold.   so here is my tribute to that wonderful wooden hare!

I love the hare stamp from Crafty Individuals, the little bird behind "Verdi" came as part of a freebie pack  from the lovely Malcolm and Jennie of  CI. the photograph has come out a little on the dark side, it looks a bit glum.  ;-)

Isn't he cute!
Thank you for looking, hope to see you soon

She sells sea shells!

Hello and welcome  its time for my first challenge as a returning design team member at  Make My Monday. MMM  is now a two weekly challenge and this one was chosen by Shawna. Here's my interpretation of the photo inspiration.

One of my art journals had a couple of pages I'd been playing with some time ago, which I thought suited this challenge.
I used different stencils, inks and texture paste on this background page to which I added more colour with DI's peacock feathers, chipped sapphire and salty ocean.Unfortunately I forgot to take another photo before I started to add the images etc.
.
..I hope you can see the gilding wax I added here and there
All the images from Cemerony  are stored on my PC which I printed onto A4 light weight card stock and cut out. I distressed some of the images with DI walnut stain. The words and phrases are from crafty Individuals back ground stamp CI-272..
 thank you for dropping by

Quick post

Hello , thank you for popping by. Here's a quick card I made for my sons, friend who was celebrating her 40th birthday. I decided to include a discrete 40th!
I wanted to have a go at water colour, not sure I got it right! I used a Penny Black,  slapstick/cling demure stamp, coloured with Derwent  Inktense water colour pencils.
I layered up the blooms

Exciting News!

Hello and welcome so nice to see you here.
Some of you will know that I used to be a DT member for the Make My Monday challenge Blog and  as of now I am once more part of the team. My first post for MMM will be in two weeks when the crrent challenge finishes. It is lovely to be backas  part of this talented team. It also ensures dear people that there will be a new post here at least every two weeks. I am ready to get back to challenges and blogging!

Here are a couple of cards I made recently, both fro my youngest son Paul's birthday. ( he's 45yrs old by the way lol)
Paul used to sing in a rock band, excellent band, even if I do say so myself although recognised as one of the best local bands in Cheshire! ( brag over) he also sang  professionally, hence the music balloon!
The bird stamp is from Katzlecraft water coloured with Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils on water colour card.
This second card for Paul was a last minute "commission" from my other son Mark to give to his brother. Mark has always called his younger brother "boyeee"
The word, Boy was cut from back ground card I've had lying about  for months and months. I can't remember what I used to make it with.
The letters have stamped images of Paul's likes and hobbies. The O displays the numbers of a dart board.
Thank you for looking, see you soon.

Still here!

Hi every one here's a a couple of cards made in the last month for family members.
In May it was my daughters birthday, she prefers the less is more approach. if she had to choose between Butterflies and Dragonflies  she would choose Dragonflies, hence the little charm.

Last week it was my DIL birthday. Jacqui loves Lillies, not Calla Lillies especially but I wanted to use this stamp which I got at a bargain price and was bought with Jacqui in mind.

Today, June 12th is my sons birthday. Mark loves tinkering with vehicles and races at  Oulton park ( Just down the road)  with his mates... unprofessionally. He loves chickens and gardening too but I wanted to try to make a humorous card.... this Stampotique  image always makes me smile

I'm going to enter Mark's card which I made last night, into the Less Is More challenge which this week is all about "splatters". This card is a little OTT for LIM  but so fits the bill splatter wise, it's supposed to represent an oil splatter lol
Enjoy the rest of Sunday

Added later that same day.   Oops I forgot that it's one layer week at LIM and this card definitely doesn't qualify!

Wedding Cards and new bathroom storage

Hi every one hope  the folks in the UKhave  enjoye the long bank holiday weekend  I've had a quiet one which suited me fine.
I made a couple of wedding cards last week which my neighbour commissioned. I made two because I wasn't sure ... about either of them actually lol. I've been away from  creativity for too long :-)
here they are.

i really wanted to use the TH thinlits heart die, I love it. Here's a close up, where you can see the hearts interlocking. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the lovely sentiment is from Crafters Companion... it goes so well with the interlocking hearts.
It was a little tricky sticking the cut elements back together, so the little flower at the bottom of the heart on the right came in handy hiding a multitude of messy sins!
Here's the second one.
The bling is supposed to represent confetti! not sure I got it right. My neighbour chose the white card especially as the colour pink picked out the brides flowers.
I thought I'd share a photo of my bathroom storage "ladder" which was a flat pack from Ikea...  not a brilliant photo but I love it!
enjoy the rest of the long weekend, hope to see you soon

Hello again!

Gosh I must remember not to make promises  I can't keep! On my last post, such a long time ago in January! I said I would post every week!!, So here I am 3 months later... oh dear, no more promises.
Here is a little gift I made for my friend Desi, who retired recently. Desi loves pretty, delicate objects etc. I think this hits the spot.

I don't know if any of you are still curious about my stuff but if you do still visit, thank you.
Best wishes

Long time no Blogging!

Hello to anyone that might still be around after my prolonged absence! If you are still here! thank you for having faith :-)
I have done a little crafting, mainly Christmas cards  but not much else. I've had a very "dry " creative time, not sure I'm over it yet but here's hoping.
Here's a card for the family of a very special person who passed away very recently.
I was inspired by the challenge over at Less is More which is One layer--- Flourish.
Here is a close up of the grooves which don't show up at all on he previous photograph

Since the above photos Ive added a little more colour and three'd the little flower and butterfly.
For LIM I'm entering the above card.
I can't promise to be blogging every day but hopefully once a week?! Wishing you a very happy, healthy 2016
