Sue Roddis Inspiration..with a Glenda Tree
Have been playing after being inspired by Sue Roddis on her blog Jabberwocky .The background was made using sticky fingers spray ink in bluebell and silver then stamped over with various bits & pieces in silver then doodled with an opaque white pen . There are some christmas words under the tree image from Lavinia stamps they don't show up well here in fact non of the background detail shows up very well.. I don't normally do blue for Christmas I'm a traditional red, green and gold girl.. but I love this ...

Sad home coming
The inside reads:
When you awaken in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circle flight
It is an excerpt from the poem " Do not stand at my grave & weep " that Chris from Craftlings Cosy Corner recently reminded me of .
Thinking of you with love . Sue xx

Becky's Birthday
Artilylicious Decadent Brocade Cd to the rescue ... again! I also used Elusive Images large flowers stamp. If you think the flower looks a bit odd well it is & it isn't... happy acicident! the first emboss didn't show up so I did it again over the top not exactly spot on but I thought it looked ok esp. as my printer had run out of blue ink. Needed a quick card for Joe to give to his daughter.... I seem to be in my "Blue Period" Although blue is Becky's favourite colour
. Well tomorrow I'm off to France... should be sorting out me wardrobe.. such a problem what to take! what will the weather be like. You know the drill :) last time I was there in May, just after a heat wave it rained every day except the day we arrived & the day we departed... so who knows whats going to happen in November!. Desi was so cold in May she had to borrow one of Bills big fisherman knit jumper!!... mind you she does feel the cold more than most.
Love to all

Inspiration from Handmade Decorative Books by Sue Roddis
I had to wing it a bit cos I didn't have the same card, inks rubber stamp etc. but I did enjoy the process of messing about with different inks & card till I came up with some thing I liked! (oooer how did "liked" go like that? was it something I did.. must've bin but no idea what. lol
I used Lavinia dandilion stamp stamped onto a background of white cardstock which had been splodged with die inks, spritzed with water & when dry spritzed with Glimmer mist.

These are the product of a workshop at The Cubby Hole with Sue Roddis. We used Cuttlebug snowflake embossing mat, alchol inks, Sticky finger Inks, distress ink pads, lovely stamps ... ooops can't remember whos,Dreamweaver tree stencil. The bird card needs a greeting at the bottom, the leaping reindeer needs to be made into a card. I have another one that is under construction but I'm a bit busy at the mo. My sister & her hubby coming to stay, going to HSNW finishing Jeanies Christmas cards before she goes back to France plus she wants a mixture of birthday cards to take as well .. busy busy..

Spooooky!
I think this looks a bit "wooden" (scuse the pun) & childlike...lol especially as I've just seen Sue Roddis Halloween cards on her Jabberwocky blog... they are fantastic!.. added 29.09.09
I do have a halloween DVD from Pink Petticoat but not sure .. I'll have a play but really I should be doing Christmas card orders maybe this can wait a bit...
Finished card .. using Pink Petticoat Spooky Doodlies DVD
Workshop leftovers
These are the card remnants from my first ever workshop. The workshop was at my local craft shop... The Cubby Hole. It was a matchbox work shop with Sue Roddis. I had a great time, met some lovely people & learnt lots. I plan to "do something " with these bits soon... watch this space. Iwill also put a picture of the matchboxes when I figure out how to get the best photo to display it.

Ties Revisited... Pretty Card?
I was supposed to be making pretty cards to day & this is what happened! Not what I wanted to achieve at all but one of my friends ... Jeanie who lives in France & is coming over to UK on Friday would like lots of mens cards to suit all ages! Mens cards are not my favourite thing! ... sorry guys...no reflection on your lovely selves...
Mind you I seem to be in a blank space at the mo.. too many ideas roaming around in my head & not enough practical application.
Going shopping to Chester on Friday with two of my friends, Maureen & Desi. We are looking for accesories to go with Maureens wedding dress, for shoes especially. We hope to have a smashing day.
I didn't tell you about our (Maureen, Jenny,Joan & me) trip to Manchester last Tuesday. We had a great day managed to get Maureens wedding dress, had a lovely lunch. bit of slurp ( wine) time before we caught the train home. Great train journey on Virgins Pedalino (spelling?) first stop Crewe , 2nd stop Milton Keynes then London. The train stopped at Crewe at 19.30 but the doors we were trying to get out at wouldn't open! So there we were on our way to MK... Cutting a long story short we were escorted to first class with a free cuppa by the train manager who arranged for us to catch a train back to Crewe from MK. We arrived back in Crewe at 22.00 . Not bad really & it made us chuckle.
