Stitchy, Waxy, Textured Canvas at the Cubby Hole

We had a great time at the CH on Sat. Sarah had us STITCHING! ME sewing! not my favourite occupation .. but I thoroughly enjoyed every moment even though I tried hard to get out of the stitchy bit but glad I didn't  in the end!

I thought my background looked oriental so I chose a rubber stamp image as inspiration for the flower.

I made the support from cocktail sticks with the points cut off. I will be putting some little black beads in the centre of the flowers, I might but dangly beads to the right of the cocktail sticks.

This shows some of the stitching, just to prove that I did it.

Hope you can see the wax effect.

You can see everones efforts on Sarah's blog.. The Art of Moodling.

Lovely work and it is good to step outside the comfort zone now and again - sewing is a great addition to all sorts of things. You can even get away with faux stitching sometimes LOL !!

Now that is really impressive! You tackle some very interesting projects Sue and this one has turned out so well. Well done for battling your stitching demons. Maybe you'll decide to use stitching more often now!
