Take a little time for tea.

Good morning .... welcome one and all. it's Monday so time for a new challenge at Make My Monday which is:
 Food and Drink
I found this a real trial!... Mojo gone AWOL!  :-(
here it is:

 Picture heavy.... minimal script.....

I slipped the CI image behind one of the clock faces on the  Graphics 45 paper.

and then repeated the same with the whole card behind the circle of the clock face paper.

I layered up the bird
.

 The original card...
I really didn't like it.... not all that happy with the end result now! Especially as I had in mind, before I started, to keep it neutral!!!
Hope you can join us this week, I look forward to seeing your projects.
 Enjoy the day,
 Suzi B xx
PS  the more I look at this creation the less I like it. perhaps I should have kept the original ....... oh dear :(

Distress it!

Good morning and welcome on this sunny Easter Monday. Hope you've enjoyed a happy Easter week end.
It's time for another challenge at Make My Monday and this week we'd like to see you

DISTRESS It!
here's mine
I decided to try using a tag! not something I do very often and my plan was to attach it to some embossed/texture paste type background but I was in some discomfort from shoulder, neck and back pain!... think I must have slept in a an unusual for me position so found it difficult to carry on.
The idea for this tag came from what I see/hear from the windows and garden in my new home
. I couldn't get, squirrels, ducks, swans, jays or wood peckers etc on the tag :~) or the wonderful movement of the Silver Birch trees swaying in the breeze.
I removed the  charms which were attached to a hair grip and bright yellow, gold.... bought from the pound shop! and tried to "distress" them but was unsure how to achieve it... in the end I used alcohol inks. I'm sure I have a rubber "song" stamp but couldn't put my hand on it.. so wrote it freehand.
Products
for the tag:  Distress Inks: shabby shutters, mowed lawn, broken china and stormy sky, individually swooshed onto a craft mat, spritzed with water, picked up with the tag and dried in between each colour.
Stamps:
In the background, just visible, a large silver birch tree  stamp, sorry can't remember where from.
Chocolate Baroque:Tall Trees and Wisteria lane.
Stampers Anonymous: Urban Chic.
Oxford Impressions: Come Fly with Me
Inks
 DI: black soot
Versafine: onyx black.

The DT at MMM is a bit thin on the ground at the moment due to family illness and the ever present pressures of family life and work. ... but hopefully every one will soon be up and running.
hope you can join us for this fun challenge... I enjoyed doing my tag although I'm not %100 happy with it ....perhaps if I get round to mounting it on to some textured card or something as planned  it will please me more :)
Enjoy what remains of Easter Monday... I'm off to look at a new car!!!!... LOOK being the operative word, today.
 Suzi B xx
PS
Thought you might like to know that I strengthened the back of the tag  so that my lovely new neighbour, Marie could use it as a book mark... which her husband Chris had suggested it could be used as.

Flower Bubbles

Good morning and a very warm welcome. This is my first post from my new home and my new craft room  MR2! (Making Room mark 2)
its wonderful to be crafting again especially  for the  Make My Monday challenge which this week is  hosted by the lovely Rosie. She would like to see
 Mythical Creatures
Here's mine: Queen of the Fairies
The gorgeous image is from a lovely sheet  from Nicecrane Designs : The Water Babies vol 1. I just love these images. The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley is one of the earliest books that I remember as a very small child....  mainly the images , not the story! I had to remind myself of the story. Here's a link if you'd like to be reminded of the story

The Queen of the fairies is surrounded by "flower bubbles" made from a cupcake wrap, distressed with DI's Antique Linen and Iced Spruce then randomly "splashed with little shiny spheres... don't know what they're called? The backing paper is from a 12x12 by Jodie Lee ( I think) which has been through the Cuttlebug using a swirly Sizzix folder to give the impression of the sea /waves. It was then sanded to achieve the appearance  white foam :-)

A few little gems added before mounting onto a white base card. 14x14cm.

A heads up

Looking forward to seeing you there

I'm hoping to get back into the swing of crafting and blogging and will get round to seeing you eventually. Although my craft stash is unpacked.... it's not in any order! In fact I'm not sure where everything is... it needs sorting! It will get done slowly... I just needed to unpack it and CRAFT!! It will be my cluttered sanctuary... my new home need lots of attention ie: new bathroom, kitchen, total redecoration, carpets etc... then there is garden!!! but I love it here.
Looking forward to catching up with you all.
