Poppy time

Good morning and welcome,  being Monday you know that  means it's time for a lovely new challenge  at Make My Monday and this week we have a Clean and Simple challenge
 Clean and Simple Flowers
In other words your work must be clean and simple and only flowers and sentiment allowed.
Here's my DT card

Products
IndigoBlu: Poppy Meadow 1
Versamark
Black detail  EP
Whispers Strokes
Sizzix Embossing folder
Pale cream card stock
Stamping all day tag
Versamark Onyx Black
I've added  three tiny clear gems to the tag since the photograph was taken.
The second card was made with what was going to be  background paper for another project but I'd got a black mark on it so it was put to one side.  I thought it suited the challenge so made it into a card. The tag is hiding the black mark!

Products
Imagination Crafts Dragonfly Poppy template
Chalks
Adirondack: watermelon for the tag
Whispers Strokes to highlight stems
Diamond Stickles
Gems
Stamping all day tag
Pink and light cream card stock.
Bakers twine

Hope you've all been enjoying the gorgeous UK weather...   alfresco coffee and book.... bliss.
Missi has been lolling about looking for some where cool... she ended up inside the garden divider on a ledge, hidden from view I had to climb onto a bench to get the photograph. The divider normally has stone slabs on the top but one end has been left clear cos it's one of her favourite places.

Thank you for stopping by, your visits and comments are  much appreciated especially when the MOJO is sleeping,... I nearly put all my "stash" on eBay last week!! your comments help  to keep me going   :o)

The best of people

I thought I'd share a Cubby Hole project I did a couple or so years ago. Carol had seen an Artists Paper project in Somerset Studios July/August 209 called Inchstravaganza by Chrysti Hydock and that was to be our summer project.
Chrysti's project was all about art.

Mine was all about the future.

Why the future? well I used punched inchies from get well cards sent to me when I was being treated for cancer... very succesfully I must add  it was  quite some years ago but it wasn't known at the time how things would turn out. I recieved hundreds of cards and letters ( lots of flowers too... in the days when flowers where allowed in hospital, you could hardly get im my room.) The flowers died but the cards and letters were saved in a wonderful  box that contained a fabulous gift from my work colleques. The cards were out of site in an antique seamans chest  ( lol he lives in my sitting room).  So when Carol came up with this challenge I decided to use punched out inchies from these cards and letters as a permenant reminder of wonderful family, friends and colleques.... and most of all FUTURE!!
Some close up snippets

Here's Chrystis inspiration from Somerset Studio

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend.

In her garden.

Hi everyone, hope all the UK people are enjoying this fantastic weather and I hope it's weather friendly wherever you are.
My Mid Week Motivation  for Make My Monday this morning is a quick, pretty card... hope you like it and are inspired to join in with the challenge.
 Products
 La Blanche stamp# 1287
The Scrap cake paper pad# One Moment in time
Joy Crafts die#Vintage Flourish
 Whispers Strokes
 Promarkers
Doilies lace, flowers and gems
DI # walnut stain, picked raspberry, victorian velvet and antique linen
Versafine# Vintage Sepia

I was hoping you could see the delicate shading on her face and neck but it's quite difficult to see. She's very pretty though don't you think?

The base card started life like this.
I find these scallop cards quite tricky to use ...( I have one or two that where in a pack from C&C) so when I need a larger card I just chop off the edges. The envelope ends up being a bit too large but hey! it means there's room for the embellishments!
 Enjoy you day.

Ribbon and /or lace at make My Monday

Hi everyone it's time for another challenge at Make My Monday
and it's my turn to be the host. and I would like to see
Ribbon and/or lace
on your projects. So let your girly side free or not :o)
Here's mine, hope you like it
The image is from IndigoBlu stamped with Versamark onto a vellum wrap and heat embossed with white detail EP. the flowers and leaves were decoupaged after being coloured with Whispers Stroke pens.

The pink square card is also used as a wrap around  an A5 white card which has been embossed top and bottom. behind the pink card wrap is a simple greeting and another image stamped in DI Picked Raspberry.

The embossing  folded was placed over the folded white card which meant the lovely pattern appeared on both sides of the card...  front side embossed, back part debossed.
( I was gonna say backside! which can't be right lol )

I've wrapped the first ribbon layer around the torn velum, then folded another layer three times, securing each fold with a small amount of glue before adding the hat pins and the glittery yarn
I used the same ribbon and yarn under the single flower embellishment and attached to the Stamping all day tag.

I've other photos showing the embossing on the inside and the wrap at the back where I've added stick on lace to disguise the glue under the vellum wrap but I decided, enough is enough!
Thank you for visiting me here in the "making room" I look forward to seeing your ribbon ans lace projects.

Edited: later that same day! :)

There were things about this card I wasn't all that happy with. one being the glittery yarn... I've now changed it to bakers twine.... still not sure.
I might havre to do a second version of this card to but right all the things that are niggling me. That's what happens when things "just grow"
