Yellow, Bright Green and Fuschia for MMM

Hello everyone, welcome to the fifth and final week of the Make My Monday colour wheel challenges.  This week we're focusing on a trio of colours known as SPLIT COMPLIMENTARY COLOURS.
Yellow, bright green and fuschia
We have a fabulous monthly sponsor for one lucky participant~

Priyanka from My Heart Pieces is offering 3 digis of choice to the July monthly winner.

I enjoyed making this card which was inspired not only by this weeks fabulous bright colours but also a design by Natalie MacDonald in Feb 2012 Scrap 365. Which I borrowed off my lovely Cubby Hole friend Wendy. Thank you so much Wendy. I will leave your magazine in the shop .
Natalie's canvas
I used very watery acrylic paint  dabbed , dribbled and splashed onto water colour card. Natalie dropped inks with a pipette onto a canvass.

Lots of lovely buttons!
I stamped "ball" images directly onto the card in Verasafine Onyx black ink, then again onto pink, green and yellow card, cut out the whole of the yellow and green, adhered to the card. I paper pieced the pink bits :o)
sentiment from Inkadinkado.. The water colour paper was then adhered to bright pink card which was then attached to the base card.
I'd did have another image waiting to made into a card for MMM  but used it  on Saturday for the LIM challenge... naughty me :o)
Thought you might like to see it!
pop across to the MMM blog and be inspired by the DT fabulous work!
see ya soon

I enjoyed the Olympic opening ceremony last night.. fantastic! I was with 3 girlfriends drinking wine with nibbles and dips ... and lots of fun and laughter especially towards the end of the night?.. mm hic :o)

Analogous Colours at MMM

Analogous colours are colours that sit in a group of three right next to each other on the colour wheel.  We usually use these combinations when doing monochromatic artwork. This week we are focusing on blues and Mynnette would like to see creations using turquoise, light blue, and dark blue with white or cream as your neutrals. You may stamp lined images and sentiments in either black or brown, but solid images should be stamped in one of the three blues.
I've used a digi image from MMM sponsor for July ... My Heart Pieces

Isn't she cute?... I used Promarkers  in three different shades of blue... and a skin tone neutral for her hair lol. I n the original digi image the little girl is picking lemons but i decided she  was collecting buttons!... so I could add blue buttons!... not sure it worked all that well.... what do you think? The DP is from Melissa Frances 6x6 5th Avenue Paper Pad.  The decorative middle of the oval was removed and the image placed inside with he edges covered with ribbon.
I also cut out parts of the bow so that it overlapped the ribbon

Basket of buttons collected with love........ lol

I made some blue backing paper in the same way as last weeks paper  which I stamped with Stampendous Ruffled Blooms  flower stamp.  I made this simple card with one of the flowers  added to an EF some ribbon and a sentiment all layered onto card in two shades of blue then attached to a dark blue 14cm x 14cm base card.

the larger tag was put through the Bug using the same EF as the main image then lightly dusted over with a blue ink pad. the sentiment was  added to a smaller tag.
I added turquoise beads  for the centre and a bit of Glamour dust added to the flower ruffles.

lots of "Blue" inspiration on the MMM Challenge Blog... pop across and be inspired to join us this week we'd love to see your creations.
Enjoy the sun!

LIM.. Oh No! .... sewing!!

I'm of the can't sew, won't sew brigade.. So my heart sank a little when I saw this mornings LIM challenge, mainly because my partner Joe bought me a sewing machine at Christmas!  He'd heard me saying perhaps I aught to get a sewing machine to use with my crafts?  so he got me one.. but I've never used it! apart from  struggling to thread it! and having bit of a practise. I usually do faux stitches!
So here is a card with  my first bit of stitching added, using the machine!! I meant it to be wonky...honest!

I stamped the images from the Crafty Secrets Material Girl set with black Stazon onto fabric that I'd cut to size and frayed.. lesson one: should have sewn before stamping and fraying. The images were adhered to cream card then onto Kraft card.

The same material underneath was stamped with Adirondack Watermelon using the SU Rollergraph, Very Vintage.
 Bits and pieces from stash..
I do have some metal scissors but they looked a bit big for this project

I rather like the material covered buttons... only had two! they must've come off some clothing or other :o)
Thank you for comimg  to see me I really appreciate your visit
Have a great "sunny" week end

Complimentary Colours

Good morning people, lovely to see you how you doin? This is a scheduled post so I'm hoping GB is bathed in sunshine  as we are today in Crewe, albeit on and off and not quite bathed!...  who am I kidding!?
It's another colour challenge at Make My Monday  and Mynnette our hostess this month would like us to use colours that compliment each other as in COMPLIMENTARY COLOURS and the colours chosen
 ta dah!.....
 YELLOW and PURPLE
here's mine
I made the background paper using a technique I saw on a blog... I'm so sorry can't remember where!
Materials/ Method
Water colour paper taped by the edges to an oblong baking tray or any type of tray.
 Brush the paper with water
Water Colour Paints, I used some cheap children's type of paints but with lots of lovely colours.
Add colour to the paper.. it feathers and whooshes, I used plenty of water with the colours, let it dry a bit! then I added splats of both colours but a slightly deeper yellow with less water to get a darker colour.
Hope you understood all that.. :o)
Stamps Used
 Main image: Papermania Urban Stamps
Grasses Boarder: IndigoBlu Wild Meadow.
Sentiment: Hobby Art.
I stamped the main image twice and cut out the butterfly from one which was covered with Glossy Accents then purple and yellow glitter added before it was dry. I made the antennae with a bit of wire and a couple of beads.

We are lucky enough this month to be sponsored by

As usual the DT  and our guest designer for the month Buttons have made some fabulous inspiration projects.
Thank you for stopping here, look forward to visiting you.
take care

Steampunk Garden?

It's the time of year when Carol at the Cubby Hole throws down the gauntlet for the
 Celebrating Diversity Exhibition.
This is the exhibition that showcase all the talented crafters that attend workshops, play days etc, etc at the Cub... as its affectionately known. This year Carol wanted to see what we could do with a 12" x 12" canvas with Steampunk as the theme
This is mine called.... Where Steampunk Elements Grow ;o)

The "garden" is very loosely based on Yvonne Coombers painting.

This stamp and the winged heart are from Chocolate Baroque Punky Romance set .

The butterfly and the little snail are stamps from The Artistic Stamper

This is where the tiny elements begin to grow.... then they fall to the ground and become.... flowers! tee hee.
The flowers are made from flattened bottle tops and all sorts of bits and pieces found either in my steampunk box or lying around the house!

I forgot my camera at the preview this evening.... some fabulous work, you would be amazed! I will take photos next week and show you what we get up to at the Cub!
nite nite

Secondary Colour at MMM

Good morning to you all and guess what ...Its raining! still shouldn't complain too much I don't live in a flood zone  ... we have to be grateful for some things but I feel so sorry for the people who have been flooded.... all that mud!
Back to MMM and this week Mynnette wants you to use SECONDARY COLOURS  for the Colour Wheel Challenge month.
The black lines/white lines on the right of the photographs appeared during the Blogger download they are not on the original photo. I've uploaded them more than once but the lines remain! :o(.
 Products
Flower and Flourish: Dimensionstamps, Petal Passion
DP: Chocolate Baroque, Echoes of Italy
DI: Dusty Concord.
Bits and pieces from stash
Green and white card stock.
I forgot to take a photograph of the flowers with the petals removed :o(
Stamp the flower three times
Leave one as the base,
cut one petal from one,
two petals from the other
glue the cut out flowers together,  curl the petals, ink the edges stack one on top of the other.
Dimensionstamp where you will find a link to a utube video explaining much better than I how to make the flower. I finished my flower slightly different to the video example.

Close up of the flourish and gems.
Pop across to MMM to see the what the DT have come up with for this week... believe me this month is a real challenge for some of us especially me!! lol. So you have fun with these colours I can't wait to see what you do.
Forgive me if I didn't get around to commenting on your work last week but I did see all of them... fabulous stuff!
take care, thank you for looking

Flourish Cloud

This is another LIM card using the LIM logo for inspiration...
The inspiration came from the logo colour and flourishes.  Stampotique are LIM sponsors for June so this will be their last week.. thought I'd have a go at using one of Stampotiques Images ( I don't have many)  in my second attempt this week.
So here's the gorgeous Moon girl floating along on a flourish cloud... lol

The flourish stamp is from Crafty Individuals I'm not sure where the hello greeting is from it's in  an asortment of odds and ends... do you end up with  odds and ends of loose stamps? or is it only me? me being a very messy, disorganised all over the place crafter!

I think she looks serene
her heart and wings are coloured with Copics and glittered with Glamour Dust.

Enjoy your Sunday, thank you for coming to see me :o)
