MMM Diamonds and Flourishes

or as Suzanne said ... Diamonds are a girls best friemd1 ;o)
This is the last week of the Romance theme with diamonds and flourishes as a sub theme. Thank you Suzanne for a great month of romance. There have  been some wonderful entries so thank you to all the challenge followers too.

Updated version... I thought the original looked a bit flat! so I've added some flowers, CS freebie, to give it some dept

 Ingredients
Crafty Individuals Flourish C1-182
La Blanche Framed lady.
IndigoBlu sentiment.
Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Marvy Deco Colour Liquid Gold , extra fine
Cream card stock 14cmx14cm.

I cut around the flourish with a craft knife to slip the
frame underneath.

I used the gold fine liner to highlight the flourish, frame and the words  of the sentiment with a bold font . Didn't wont to obliterate the finer font.

I hope you will join in with this weeks challenge theme of Diamonds and flourishes at MMM
Don't forget to check out the fabulous DT inspiration pieces at Make My Monday and remember this month there is a prize from Marrianne Creatables.

.Have a good week.

LIM Don't Scrap It!

Chrissie and Mandi  of LIM would like uus to scour our bit box(es) for this weeks challenge!.. I have one or two as I'm sure you do, so here goes :o)

some of my discard!!
This is a lovely Image of Poppies from Deezines Art that I tried floating water colour technique with but I think this is too delicate for that... but even so I loved it!  I mounted it onto an old torn envelope that was also in the bits box

Here's another .. discarded cos for LIM the card was too small for the image and  I managed to get black marks near the fold. :o(  hence the ribbon.

discarded bits and pieces.
If you're wondering where the Kraft discard is? it's in the bin! ... It was pristine (especially for me ...I think I'm a Chaotic Crafter... stuff everywhere!) it ended up covered in black lines... no idea where they came from  it is above and beyond rescue .... believe me I tried lol.

Update on yesterdays post

Hi all,  although I liked yesterdays LIM card I wasn't happy with the trailing flowers, added to hide a smudge. I tried to remove the flowers and guess what?! ruined the whole thing. So I cut out the hydrangea...didn't want to waste it, and started again...  so here's the revised version .. apart from the additional layer and the gems this is how yesterdays should've looked. I had My sisiter in mind when I made this ... but apparently she's not too fond og hydrangeas...boo hoo  :o)

The direct to paper image is also coloured with the chalks... can't see it though  :o)

LIM Punches or Die cuts

On the last minute again! ... for LIM

I quickly made this card using Stampendous Jumbo Hydrangea stamped onto an 8x8 card, coloured with chalks using my finger mainly. I coloured a piece of white card with both  blue and pink chalk, stamped over with tiny script then used a Martha Stewart Hydrangea Punch  to punch out the flowers and adhered to the large hydrangea image.  The punched flowers have been swooshed with Ice Stickles Blueberry Ice..

The flowers around the sentiment ... well the ones floating down... were added to hide a smudge :o(

When the stickles is dry I'm gonna add some pearl gems to the centre of the larger flowers

Playing

Hi all, It's a dull drizzly wet day here in Crewe,  Cheshire :o)  hope it's nicer where you are. Just the kind of day to sit colouring. I remember saying to my children ...many years ago, on such a day, why don't you do some colouring?  no games consoles etc in those days.....so I headed my own advise... wry grin and played with colouring pencils.

I've used Stampendous Cling Jumbo Rosehips.. I love this set. think I must be a  Victorian romantic at heart .. I love flowers.
Now comes the bit you wont believe.. I can hardly believe it my self. I have lost my Derwent Inktense Pencils!!! can't find em any where. I have searched the making room upside down and no sign :o(
I only have the red and green and it was when I went to put these in the tin that I realised they were missing... I'm in shock! because Inktense are my favourite for water colouring.

I coloured the image with a mixture of the two Inktense, Crayola and West Design pencils.

I raised part of the images on the bottom of the card so that they were part of the top design and not just used as a stop.

Oh heck I've just hit the publish button instead of preview.. don't know what's wrong with my head these days... or rather I do  :o(    nuff said.

I think I will add  some bling and a  with  love sentiment to the left of the main image.

 Have a lovely day
take care

Victorian Romance.

Victorian Romance   at    Make My Monday
Don't forget Marianne design is sponsoring Make My Monday this month with a fabulous prise.

I've taken my inspiration from the Victorians love of opulence and clutter :o)

I based the colour scheme on the  Bo Bunny DP and  the photograph which is from the Joanna Sheen's Victorian Companion  Triple CD .

The roses, leaf and you can just see part of flower under the roses are made from the same double sided  paper  ( it's more like card I was a bit cack handed rolling the roses )  using Marianne Creatable Dies.
The roses have been dipped in Versamark and embossed with gold as have the leaf and flower. The edges of the main image and the DP have also been embossed in the same way.

I made a fan by concertina folding half a small doyley, coloured by dabbing  Adirondack (clover) ink with a soft brush. I then embossed the edges with gold EP.  my intention was to put the fan in the left corner of the card ( where it is ) but I didn't want to cover the lovely  graphics on the DP. I therefore cut with a craft knife around the "flower" and slipped the fan behind it... had to trim the fan down quite a bit. :o).The little white flower was a find at the Indoor Market in Crewe. I swiped  Versamark across it and embossed with gold EP.

The  wooden heart started life like this. I bought a box of ten from Tesco... new theyed come in handy.. like we do :o) Mind you we then go and forget what we've got... well I do

It ended up like this after lots of gold embossing which didn't really cover the red...  no idea why I didn't paint it gold first!  then I remembered  I had some of Debbie Moore's Metal Magic and that did the trick. Whilst the Metal Magic was still molten I stamped into it with a  heart stamp  from Chocolate Baroque

  Enjoy your day

LIM One Layer Card. Stripes

Better late than never...I found stripes quite a bothersome challenge for LIM
so here's my attempt at "stripes"
Still not 100% happy with it but I'm running out of time. I'll probably  do another one later or add acetate wings or something but for one layer that's not permitted :o)
I stamped TH Butterflies/ Moths first, masked each butterfly/moth then added the script followed by the "stripes".
I got the idea for this format from the very talented Godelieve her card is stunning... Chrissie and Mandi you  will love it too

Added later that same day  :o)
I've now attached vellum wings.. this version not applicable fro LIM One Layer but I'm happier with it now .. at least you can see the butterflies/moths, should've pressed harder onto the textured card stock of the original... better still should've done it again! lol. Suzi xx

I really should be getting on with every day stuff and going the library..
Enjoy the rest of the day and hopefully I'll have time to pop across to your blogs later
take care

MMM week 36.Romance of course

and Suzanne would like you to use die cuts of
Hearts and Flowers...  both please
don't worry if you don't have any dies or punches we would still love to see your hearts and flowers creations.
We are being sponsored by Marianne designs this month and you could win this fabulous prise.

Pop along to Make My Monday to see some of the DT's great inspiration pieces.

We look forward to visiting your blogs to leave comments  and we love it when you give us feed back... thank you.

here's mine ... which is quick and simple.

I used a Marianne Creatable Die LR0192 for the flowers aka Dandelion seed heads and punched hearts to interpret the blown seeds... instead of 1 a clock 2 o clock its.. he loves me he loves me not
(poetic licence... grinning face).
I adhered DP from an Amy Butler  K&Co paper pad (626546 I think that's the right code it is very small print) to thin card so that the die cuts  were a bit more solid and adhered to the card with sticky fixes to rais them up from the card base.
The background is from the I Brake for Stamps Plate 1003 I deliberately didn't stamp too hard in the middle of the design so that the flower heads showed up more.... oh yeah! insert wry grin...

Enjoy your day  and take care

Happy 1st Birthday LIM

For  LIM first Anniversary Chrissie and Mandi are back to a repeat of their inaugural challenge which for the first Saturday of the month is colour... and this time they have chosen
AQUA
here's my entry
The images are from LOCAL KING RUBBER in Canada I first saw the little chick on a card by the lovely and uba talented Gay Peplow of  Crafty Musings
I love all the images in this set so had to buy it! thank you for the link Gay. It arrived very quickly and the postage was reasonable ... I'll be back :)
I stamped the square with ColorBox, aqua then over stamped the flower image first in an old  jet black Stazon and then with fingers crossed went over  it with Versa Color, Turquoise... whew! it achieved  the effect I wanted... to help the flower pop a bit. I then did the same with the little chick... there are two sizes of chick in the set.

The sentiment is a slightly darker than I wanted ...but I doubted being able to achieve the line up again so left as is ... ;)
 Take care

MMM week 35

This week sees the brginning of a new month of challenges at
Make My Monday with the theme of
ROMANCE
picked by Suzanne... who is a real romatic :)
so to begin the month the first week starts with
LOVE LETTERS - SCRIPT OR VERSE.
I decide to try and have a go at a romantic type collage...mmm but I'm not too sure about it lol. I was determined to us the blue envelope  (download from The Graphics fairy) don't ask me why... some Freudian thing about romance probably... tee hee. The stamped images and script are all from Non Sequiter, Across The Miles and Affairs of the Heart.

This is a quick post  cos I'm running late
a. for the DT post and
b. visitors will be here any minute.... and I need to make myself look presentable.
If there is any thing you wish to know about the work please ask and I'll reply in the comments.

Walking in Haslington

Morning folks it's bloomin cold here in Crewe frosty but no snow. I thought you might like to see a couple of photographs I took whilst out walking with a friend on Sunday. Even though it was a really overcast dull day the photo's are ok...ish lol.  hope you like them.

I like the reflection in this one
My friend thought this looked like a cat climbing the tree.
I thought it looked liked a mysterious imp diving into the underground! tee hee.

Haslington Hall a typical historical Cheshire building.
