Beautiful Blue Planet

Joan one of the Make My Monday design team has chosen a lovely theme for this week's challenge
 which is:
Earth Day
Earth day is celebrated on Wednesday 22nd April,  it promotes environmental awareness and calls for the protection of the planet.
With this in mind I decided to use recycled materials such as old envelopes and book pages etc which ended up as an art journal page.
My original idea was to make a recycled card using an old brown envelope and a book page from an old Pears Cyclopaedia. I chose a page about plants, seemed appropriate. I struggled to make the card idea work ;-( so I thought it might make a good journal page. When I checked my journals... I have a few but not often used, it's always something I'm gonna do, if you know what I mean. I found this lovely blue page made many months ago with waste from baby wipes.. beautiful blue planet came to mind..  I love the NASSA photographs of earth taken from ISS (International space station) We live on a beautiful, unique (up to now) planet. The corrugated parts are from a Costa wrap from around a toasted sandwich which I sat outside to enjoy the other day whilst shopping.
These two photos highlight the book page and the recycle information from the Costa packaging
I think the page needs more work especially something about its inspiration ie Earth Day.

Thank you for visiting I really do appreciate it, I like to read your comments.

A lovely journal page - so appropriate for the theme. I've yet to launch into journal pages!

this is a great recycling project, makes a wonderful page for your journal

We certainly do live on a remarkable planet, and is worth celebrating.
I hadn't thought of doing anything for Earth Day, maybe after seeing this I might.
Hope you got to sort out your shed.
