One Layer Off the Edge

Less is more week 6... .one layer, off the edge.

I can't tell you how many goes I had before I got this CLEAN!... every time I stamped the image there was a black smudge some where!  I was ready to throw things out of the window!

I  randomly coloured the image with artists oil pastels... I've never used these before and  I don't know how to use them.. I just went for it with twos shades of blue and a yellow then blended it all together with  cotton  buds. I quite like the look.

 Amended 15.03.2011
The butterfly stamp is from an A4 sheet  from Elusive Images called Patchwork Butterfly
Elusive images no longer trades
but will be relaunching soon as Chocolate Baroque

I've also entered this into One Stop Craft Challenge which this week is Clean and Simple
***
This is one of the rejects ... cut out ready to use in a journal... probably.
I changed my mind about the colours because these are the ones I always go for...decided I should try some thing else.

Hi Sue
This is stunning
The little areas on rubber stamps that catch are so annoying aren't they. I tend to have a quick look and run my finger quickly on areas that catch. If there is a particular edge that constantly catches I take my craft knife and cut it off!
Thanks for entering with such a FAB card, the colours are fabulous

great minds think alike - had just decided to use this when I saw your post! Know what you mean about the blots, and you can't add a flower of dragonfly to hide them for this challenge either............. love the blues and greens you used, and it looks perfect stamping to me!!

I bet there were quite a few cards flying out of windows this week!! This butterfly is a great stamp for the off the edge idea and the 'reject' is looking good too - we never throw anything away!!

Great colouring on your butterfly and because of it's size it really suits being off the edge. x

Stunning card and for a first go at using Artist's oil pastels I'd say you've cracked it - the colours in both butterflies is fabulos.

You've made a lovely card here. I think there have been lots of 2nd/3rd (and more) attempts at this week's card. I know I tried 3 times myself!
