Beautiful Blue Planet

Joan one of the Make My Monday design team has chosen a lovely theme for this week's challenge
 which is:
Earth Day
Earth day is celebrated on Wednesday 22nd April,  it promotes environmental awareness and calls for the protection of the planet.
With this in mind I decided to use recycled materials such as old envelopes and book pages etc which ended up as an art journal page.
My original idea was to make a recycled card using an old brown envelope and a book page from an old Pears Cyclopaedia. I chose a page about plants, seemed appropriate. I struggled to make the card idea work ;-( so I thought it might make a good journal page. When I checked my journals... I have a few but not often used, it's always something I'm gonna do, if you know what I mean. I found this lovely blue page made many months ago with waste from baby wipes.. beautiful blue planet came to mind..  I love the NASSA photographs of earth taken from ISS (International space station) We live on a beautiful, unique (up to now) planet. The corrugated parts are from a Costa wrap from around a toasted sandwich which I sat outside to enjoy the other day whilst shopping.
These two photos highlight the book page and the recycle information from the Costa packaging
I think the page needs more work especially something about its inspiration ie Earth Day.

Thank you for visiting I really do appreciate it, I like to read your comments.

April Showers

Good morning and welcome, time to share my design team piece for the
Make My Monday challenge, which is
April Showers.
I'm writing  this on Sunday  (yesterday)  and the weather is atrocious, it's  dark, windy and raining! So I decided to make a bright, fun card suitable for a little girl. I don't do this type of card often so it was quite a change.

The main image and the sentiments, apart from Rainy Day which is from Pink Paisley, are all freebies from the Creative Stamping magazine, I struggled with the "puddle"  in the end I used a background stamp from Chocolate Baroque which I lightly stamped with DI stormy sky then rolled it onto the card.... not sure it worked all that well :-). The "raindrops" are from the Gorgeous Grunge set by SU. I paper pieced  the girl and umbrella from Back to Basics DP by Dovecraft

I wanted to put bright buttons on the coat but even my tiny ones were too big so I blobbed each with glossy accents. I added a touch of colour to the face with Whispers Strokes.
I added a little heart button,  and some yellow twine to the heart and umbrella.
I believe the weather here in the UK is set to get warmer later this week.... fingers crossed.
thank you for stopping bye

Spring Time

Hello and welcome, hope you all had a lovely Easter with lots of yummy Easter treats.

My choice for the Make My Monday challenge this wee is inspired by all the cherry blossom here in the UK and the birds in good voice
is
Spring Time with Bird/Birds

The main image is from a freebie set of stamps called Birdsong from Creative Stamping magazine, coloured with Whispers Strokes and Distress markers. The sentiment is by Stampendous

I've included a hand painted photo inspiration
from the net and I've no idea who painted it.

The second card was made very quickly last evening from bird "stuff" still on my desk. It was after Poldark had finished.... why would you miss him!.... whit woo...

Thank you for popping by, enjoy Easter Monday and the rest of the week.
