Mail Art

Good morning and welcome to the first MMM challenge of July 2014. It's my turn,  to choose the theme....
I would like to see your
Mail Art
I love looking at the mail art that is published in Stampington magazine, Pinterest etc.... I would love to decorate  my envelopes more often... but then again we email rather than write! .. (I love the physical act of writing) ... may be I should organise a mail art swap! :-) but not before, during or just after my new kitchen is fitted... hope fully very soon.
This is a picture heavy post...
The backing paper: Tim Holtz Idea-ology paper pad: Wallflower. I didn't want to obscure the roses so I cut around the image with a craft knife so that the postcard would slip under.
inks: DI: antique linen, Versafine: Vintage Sepia, Adirondack: sunshine yellow & watermelon.
The rose embellishment is, or rather was an earring from a set of 12 individual ones from a well known bargain fashion store.. I can't remember where the lovely little heart is from.
the cluster of tiny postcards is from Impressive Images: Essential elements 2005
This is a 6x6" envelope decorated with JOFY stamps the coloured with Whispers strokes.
How cheery to receive correspondence in an envelope like this

This one you may have seen on a previous post but I thought I'd share it again because I like it :-)
Hope you can join us at MMM this week...
Have a good week

How beautiful Sue! Love the way you've tucked the postcard stack into the roses. Some fabulous ideas here and a great idea for a theme. Love it! Jenny x

These are all stunning Sue! I agree receiving those would be such a delight but the state some of my mail is in sometimes (especially when it rains), I'd be so upset if they got damaged in transit, whether I was sending or receiving, or do you put them inside a boring 'normal' envelope to post?

Wonderful theme Susi and I love how you put your mail art together! Very clever using those beautiful papers, and great use of that parcel post element!

Some great mail art inspirations here and a good theme for the challenge. It is thinking cap time now to see what I have which would be suitable to use!!

Wow Suzi, these are all gorgeous and I think my favourite is the first one which has so much amazing detail.
Thanks for a great challenge - I really enjoyed it.

Great post Suzi, love the way you cut into the paper for the postcards to slip behind, and it's a piece of my most favourite paper this year xx

What beautiful and varied examples of mail art. Highlights for me are the charm on the first one, the back of the second and the steampunk theme of the last. All Great.

Great work, love the vintage colours. The envelope is just so cute, and great steampunk. xxx
