Week 45 at Make My Monday and LIM week 63

Good morning to you all, it's a bright morning ..so far :) here in Crewe, hope the weathers good where you are.

This week at Make My Monday
Caz would like you to use a Sports / Hobbies theme for Men / Boys on your project.
Producing masculine cards is not my favourite thing so this has been a bit of a challenge for me:) but contrary to expectations I've enjoyed the theme ..
here's my cards
I bought this stamp when I first became interested in rubber stamps... it was used to make a card for my son :)
after that it hasn't been used much but it was just right for the MMM challenge plus it's one of the few humerous stamps I have. I find it difficult to come up with humerous cards, do you ?

POP along to the MMM  challenge site and check out my teamies wonderful inspiration pieces... and have a go, we'd love to see you.

 Products used
Main Image: Stamps Happen It's Only a game.
Pro markers, Whispers Strokes, water colours
Stamp Bord
Provo Craft Embossing Plate
 Tim Holtz Distress inks

GRRRR I can't get rid of this big gap!

This next card is also an attempt at "Humerous" it also fits the bill for the challenge at LIM which is to make a One Layer Card and to my horror with doodles!... I can't draw for toffee! so I thought I would have to give LIM a miss this week but with tongue in cheek this is what I came up with using the MMM theme of men/boys, sports/hobbies

This is my doodling!!
I "painted" the grass with water colour paint then "doodled" with a black marker pen ....lol

As usual I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs to admire your work
take care  see you at your place :)

Week Two of Men/Boys at Make My Monday

This week it's all about Masculine Vintage!
All the backing papers are downloads unfortunately I can't remember where I got them.
When I first started down loading images etc I just put them in a folder titled Backing Papers and another one called Toppers and Images.. no mention of where I got them  :o(. Now everything is downloaded into specific named folders... much better.

This lovely watch stamp is from
Chocolate Baroque A4 stamp plate called Punky Romance.
The chain is from a box of old jewellery put aside for just such a purpose as this.
The watch has been stamped and embossed. The sentiment is from
 Paper Artsy

I shaped the pocket watch slightly to give more dimension

This shows the layers ,distressing, inking around the edges and the decorative chain.
The DT have ,as usual provided you with lots of inspiration on the Make My Monday challenge blog. Take a look, have a go, we would love to see your work.. Don't forget that this month you will be in with a chance of winning the prize from Marianne Designs
Hope you're all enjoying the Easter break  even if the sun did come a week too early!

LIM no. 2

Hello to everyone, hows you?. Although I think this is too much for LIM I'm showing it anyway :o) cos its the LIM picture inspiration that inspired me and I was dying to use this stamp.
I originally intended just to use the gorgeous corner image (Blockheads Paper Arts. Victorian Eccentricities) as a stand alone image but due to unforeseen "blobs" the tag and flowers were rushed into action, otherwise it would've been another piece for the scrap box!

I had to look on line to find the colour of  Parakeets...this one is a Ring -necked parakeet. All this instant information at our fingertips.... marvellous!

This is Missi asleep amidst the chaos of my desk!... for some reason she loves it here and usually sleeps on something I need lol.
 bye for now

Men /Boys

Good morning. It's a new month and that means a new topic at Make My Monday. This month Caz is the lead DT member and she has chosen Men and Boys to be the overriding theme for the month, this first week  Caz would like to see some WHEELS on your projects.
Also this month MMM is being sponsored by
Marianne Designs
with this fabulous prize

There are some wonderful inspiration from the DT pop across and take a look
Here's mine.

I used some of the images from this free digital download picture of cars from the The Graphics Fairy...
I printed onto light weight card then chose four  .. used only three in the end lol
I used a black Promarker around the edges and mounted onto  slightly larger card.
The images were then mounted with sticky pads onto black card stock that had been embossed. The car on the left is raised a little higher. The sentiment is from a Darkroom Door set of stamps called, funnily enough, Enjoy Life

This shows the lovely deep embossing from a TH Sizzix Alteration die, Retro Circles plus  a screw type brad in the centre of a circle...

I covered the the black of the cars with Diamond Glaze
It was tricky getting it just where I wanted it to be :o)
The whole thing was then mounted onto whitecardstock then adhered to a 15cmx15cm  black half fold card.

Looking forward to seeing your WHEELS!
have a good week

Less is More "Lucky Dip"

Picture Inspiration at LIM
here's mine

the idea for this card came from a lovely Cubby Hole friend, Christine C who gave me the most delightful card for my birthday. Christine used a template to make a beautiful, subtle background for a stamped image. I thought I'd have a go at the same type of effect...mmm I was a bit too heavy handed with the ink, nothing subtle about it! So I added more ink and turned into the focal point! i rather like it  :o)

I added, glitter, buttons and ribbon to give it some texture. I painted darker bits of pink ink to add interest to the stippled flower template.

Lots of shadows on the pics... taken outside in the sun!.
 Enjoy the rest of theSunday.

MMM .. Spring.. New Life/New Beginnings

Hi every one, sorry I'm a bit late with my post but I hope you've all had as lovely a day as I have. Its my birthday and I've been out for the day in Chester with five of my girl friends and I forgot to schedule this post ... oops :o(.
This week at Make My Monday we would like to see your New Beginnings/ New Life cards . I chose new life as in.. spring time birds building their nests and looking after the eggs ready for the "new life" to emerge.
Stamps: Main Image: Stampendous
Spring is Coming: Chocolate Baroque
Sentiment: Kanban
Tim Holts Distressed Doily
Roses: Marianne Creatables
EP: ... not sure who's.. lol
I stamped  the Spring is Coming sentiment onto the  brown paper (it is brown wrapping paper), and onto the cream card  with Versamagic. The edges of of the brown paper have been embossed with the blue EP as has the doily which I also coloured with water colours.

I have had great day with my wonderful friends... and probably drank too much red wine... lol

LIM Masking

Chrissie and Mandi would like us to do some "masking" but still leave lots of white space...
I enjoyed doing this.... hope it fits the bill :o)
I'm very tempted to add a ribbon or something down the left hand side of the card.... eeek! I hear you all yell ..

I deliberately cut the mask larger than the image ..
I wanted this white outlined appearance against the negative background. No prizes for guessing what I used to colour with!

Script stamp: Ecogreen Crafts, Petal party
Flower: Chocolate Baroque, Floral DL Lily

I added this little chap because without them, there bee no flowers :o)

I think it unbalanced the design ...but I like him.

Enjoy your day

For Jacqui from Ellie

Hello to you all
My  10yr old Grandaughter (the youngest and only girl) asked me to make her Mum a Mothers day card in blue, Jacqui's favourite colour.
I was inspired this morning by Jacqueline of  Deezines Art  gorgeous CAS card.
Now I know mine isn't CAS but 10yr old girls want as much bling and glitter as they can get... so in that case I think I've been quite restrained :o).
I was also inspired by the Lovely Mothers sentiments by Liz at Pink Petticoat.

DP.  Pink Petticoat Hydrangea download. and Plain in Ocean
Sentiment.  Pink Petticoat Lovely Mum Sentiments download.
Flower Stamp: B-C-E.
 Ink: DI Chipped sapphire
White ribbon pulled through DI of the same colour.
Bits and pieces from my stash

have a good day

MMM Spring..

Spring is firmly in our minds for March at MMM especially with the warmer weather that we are experiencing at the moment.. makes you think  ooh not long now before we're sitting outside looking at the stars... slurping wine and smelling BBQ's, :o)
This week, Jacqueline our leader at Make My Monday wants us to continue using  Spring as a theme for our Mothers Day or Thank You cards.
here's mine.
This is a Chocolate Baroque Stamp coloured with my ever favourites Derwent Inktense water colour pencils with a touch of Glamour Mist on the flowers.I must admit that this was intended as a small card using the white scalloped card.. but hey ho I made a mess up  (after I'd coloured it ) I decided I didn't want to waste it so cut the card in half and fixed to some dark green card... It doesn't look green here does it?
I used Sticky pads to attach the white card.
Hope you can see the Glamour Dust!
Don't forget to pop across to the Make My Monday Challenge Bog to check out the DT's fabulous inspiration pieces.. visit their Blogs and say hello ..

Less is More wk 58 One layer card including

Script
I didn't intend this for LIM but I'm hoping it fits the bill... might not be enough white space... hope so :o)
The flower is from Paper Artsy HP1011EZ, coloured with Derwent Inktense water colour pencils, stamped over script which is from The Stamsmith: Cartolina Postale. I added seed beads and gold glitter to the centre. The sentiment is from Stampingallday.
A few more beads threaded onto crochet cotton..
I have a load of the textured card I used for this ... no idea where I got it from or what I had in mind :$ but it has given the flower a bit more detail especially on the black parts... I quite like it

 Have a lovely week end

week 39 Spring is Coming...

Our new theme for March at Make My Monday chosen by our leader Jacqueline is
Spring
with the sub heading for the first week of:
 Spring Flowers

The bluebell stamped image is from Chocolate Baroque  A6 Snowdrop Script set stamped onto off white water colour card and coloured with Derwent Inktense Pencils... ( I found them... ) edged with a Promarker and mounted onto yellow card. this was the mounted onto dark blue HOTP paper pizazz card which had been cuttled to one side with Provo craft embossing folder which was then sanded to reveal a bit of the white inner core. The blue was mounted onto yellow card and then all mounted onto an A5 off white textured card. Ribbon and bits and pieces added. the tag stamp is a Craft Stamper freebie.
I used the same image for a second card which I distressed and mounted onto part of a  K & Co 12x12 paper that I've had for ever. I'm trying to use my papers and not just "collect" them. I cut out elements of the paper and mounted and distressed with DI colours Tea bag and Antique Linen..

Showing the distressed edges.

due to the fact that i was away in Dartmouth for a few days i was unable to visit many of last weeks entries so i will do my best this week to pop across to see your Spring Flowers.
